The new look Pixies kicked off the North American leg of their world tour this week with New Paz on Bass. The tour got started in the band’s old stomping ground of Northampton, Massachusetts with a 36-song warm-up gig. Yeah that’s right, your typical 36-song warm-up gig. The tour officially started this past Wednesday in Toronto, with a 32-song set that included a new tune “Silver Snail” as the show opener ,and the live debut of EP-2 track “Snakes.” I recently came across a list (view below) of new songs that the Pixies have registered to BMI.
In an interview with the Toronto Star this week, drummer David Lovering revealed that:
“there may be an EP3 and other surprises down the line. As a magician, I like the “surprise” factor. That’s what we’ve been doing, so I’ll keep it at that”.

The tour continues this week on the eastern seaboard which includes a sold out show in Pittsburgh next Saturday. Frank Black once said that its fun to say you’re playing the eastern seaboard. BTW tickets still remain for the Phoenix show on February 24…. Just Sayin’
