Watch Arcade Fire Video For “You Already Know”

14/08/17 at 10.50am   /   by deepster19   /   3 Comments

Arcade FireThe band that makes front page headlines every time they play a cover song, have found enough time to make a music video for one of their own tunes.  The Canadian collective Arcade Fire recently shared a video for the track “You Already Know” from the group’s 2013 album Reflektor.  The band’s current North American tour concludes on August 30, and at that time, hopefully so does the cover tunes.  Reflekt and watch some of the covers courtesy of Spin.

Childhood  “Lacuna”

U.K. buzzband Childhood is releasing their full-length debut.  The London quartet’s first single “Blue Velvet” has hints of The Stone Roses throughout, decide for yourself below.  It didn’t hurt that the band supported Palma Violets on their previous tour.

Watch “Blue Velvet” here:

FKA Twigs  “LP1”

26-year-old English singer-songwriter Tahliah Barnett, FKA Twigs, offers an interesting blend of hipster R&B, otherwise known as PBR&B.  I’m actually diggin’ the track “2 Weeks,” check it out below.  Ms. Twigs has already been well-received by the folks that get paid to well-receive music.

Alt-J Unveil Video For “Left Hand Free”

14/08/09 at 7.39am   /   by deepster19   /   0 Comment

alt-jEnglish indie rockers Alt-J unveiled a video for track “Left Hand Free” from the band’s forthcoming album.  The sophomore album Time Is All Yours is scheduled for a September 23 release, and becomes the follow-up to the 2012 British Mercury Prize winning album An Awesome Wave, good luck topping that.  Recently, the group shared a video for the first single from the new album, a tune titled “Hunger Of The Pine.”  Watch both videos below and decide if more awards are possibly in Alt-J’s future.  The track “Left Hand Free” is quite a departure from the band’s true vibe.

TV On The Radio Announce New Album

14/07/31 at 4.16am   /   by deepster19   /   0 Comment

tv on the radioOne of my favorite bands to emerge from the noughties is the Brooklyn based indie band TV On The Radio.  The band announced earlier this week that their fifth studio album, titled “Seeds,” will be released this upcoming Fall.  This is the group’s first album since 2011’s Nine Types Of Light.  Eight days following the release of the last album bassist Gerald Smith lost his battle with lung cancer at age 36.

The band released two  great singles in 2013, “Mercy” and “Million Miles.”  Not sure if they plan to include those two songs on the forthcoming release.

Here is a “Seeds” teaser:

Hooray For Earth  “Racy”

“Racy” is the sophomore release from the New York City based electronic rock band Hooray For Earth.  The four-piece was last heard from in 2011 when their debut album “True Loves” dropped.  The track “Keys” is sure to make my list of favorite tunes at the end of the year.

Check out the video for “Keys” here:

Download  “Racy” here:

Jenny Lewis “The Voyager”

Singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis is releasing her third solo effort.  The former frontwoman for the band Rilo Kiley is also the  touring sidekick of Benjamin Gibbard’s supergroup The Postal Service.  Dare I say alt-country?

Watch “Just One Of The Guys” here:

Download  “The Voyager” here:

The Muffs  “Whoop Dee Doo”

Ever wonder what Kim Shattuck has been up to since she was fired from her gig as touring bassist of the Pixies?  Well here it is.  The sixth studio album overall from The Muffs is the first in 10 years.  The album title seems to be a jab at Pixies frontman Frank Black.

KASABIAN Video “Bumblebee” Has Landed

14/07/28 at 9.26pm   /   by deepster19   /   1 Comment

KasabianKASABIAN, a favorite on this blog, has released the second video from the band’s fifth studio album 48:13.  Their latest piece of work is a badass video is for the track “Bumblebee.”  Within seconds, you’ll have the volume cranked on your device, and be jumping all over the house, trust me.  “Bumblebee” is the follow-up single to “Eez-eh,” which I featured here a few months back.

The new album 48:13 remains unreleased in the U.S., however the Leicester lads plan on bringing it with them in the fall when they kickoff their U.S. tour in Boston on September 26 .  The good people over at the KASABIAN USA fan site have offered up a few suggestions on how to get yourself an import copy of 48:13.

SpoonAustin indie rockers Spoon are less than two weeks from dropping their much anticipated album They Want My Soul.  The band has already shared “Rent I Pay,” a catchy track that’s one of my fave tunes of the year.  This week, Britt Daniel and company released a video for the first proper single from the new album, a track titled “Do You.”  The band debuted the tune a few week ago on Sirius XMU with EMO disc jockey Jenny LSQ.  Indie is always a better place when Spoon is releasing new music, can’t wait for the new album!

254 bandThe London based sister duo of Colette and Hannah Thurlow who uses the moniker 2:54 are planning a late 2014 release for their sophomore album.  The forthcoming release is the follow-up to their 2012 self-titled debut.  A few years back these ladies were considered an act on the come, and then things became unfortunately quiet in 2:54 camp.  The first audio to surface from the currently untitled album is for the track “Orion,” enjoy the video below.  I remember getting excited about this band a couple of years ago and I’m glad they’re back.  Please add 2:54 to my 2015 Coachella Perfect Poster wish list.

Avi BuffaloIt’s been a while since we’ve heard from the Long Beach, California outfit Avi Buffalo.  Actually, its been since 2010 when the teenagers (at the time) released their debut self-titled full-length.  The band and the album were well-received, and the single “What’s In It For” was definitely one of my favorite tunes of 2010.  Well, they’re back,  and the plan is to release their sophomore album At Best Cuckold on September 9th.  What a strange title, just sayin.  A few weeks back the first audio to surface was for the track “So What,” now the tune has a video to go with it (watch below).  Currently, the group has only planned an European tour for the fall, add Avi Buffalo to my 2015 Coachella Perfect Poster Wish List.

At Best Cuckold tracklist:

03 Can’t Be Too Responsible
04 Two Cherished Understandings
