New to the blog in 2014 is a weekly piece featuring the Top Albums of the week. Each week (like it or not), I will post the Top 20 College Radio Albums taken from the Radio 200 list published by CMJ (College Media Journal). The reputable rag surveys up to 600 college radio stations of a weekly basis to compute the list.
If that’s not enough… I will give you my Spicy Six Albums of the week. These are the six albums that can’t find their way out of my six disc changer. The list will consist of my Top 5 Albums of the week, and one Heritage Album that’s worth dusting off and giving a listen.
Did I ever mention how much I love lists?
Here’s this week’s lists:
British singer/songwriter Dev Hynes, better known as Blood Orange, moves into the number 1 spot this week with “Cupids Deluxe,” while Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings move up 14 spots to number 2 with their release “Give The People What They Want.” Nashville based garage rockers Cheap Time are new to the countdown, coming in at number 18 with “Exit Smiles.”
