In what seems to be an endless supply of Pixies news… the band announced Monday morning their plans to tour North America in early 2014. The 33-date tour commences in Toronto on January 15 and concludes on March 1 in Austin (allegedly). Speculation has already started on why Southern California
dates were omitted from the tour schedule. Either the band wore out their welcome when they performed a string of four consecutive nights in Los Angeles last month, or, you guessed it… Indio, California the second and third weekend in April. Tickets for the 2014 dates (see below) go on sale to the general pubic this Friday October 11 at 10am local time, or use the code ANDRO to purchase tickets during the “fan-only” presale. As a special treat, support will be provided by FIDLAR, Cults, and Best Coast throughout the tour. One specific date that I took note of is February 24 in Phoenix, Arizona with Best Coast… just sayin’.
To celebrate the announcement of tour dates the band premiered a video for the song “Andro Queen.” The tune can be found on the recently released EP-1. The band’s plans moving forward are to release a series of EP’s digitally instead of releasing a proper album. The Pixies are currently on tour in Europe through November 25.

Cults, the indie pop duo comprised of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion, have shared a video for “High Road.” The track is off the NYC band’s forthcoming sophomore album Static, due in record stores on October 15. Static is the follow-up their self-titled LP that came out in 2011.
Jagwar Ma have released a new video for the track “Come Save Me.” The track is off the Australian indie dance band’s excellent debut album Howlin’. When the 2013 year end lists are revealed, Howlin’ will be among the best albums and “Come Save Me” will be near the top of the best tracks. The original video for “Come Save Me” was released back in 2011.
The following albums dropped today and are available in your local trendy record stores or on digital download.
Savages, one of the most exciting acts to emerge from the U.K. in 2013, have released a video for the intense tune “Husbands.” The all female indie rock band, based out of London, released their debut full-length Silence Yourself back on May 3.
UK indie rockers FOALS have shared a video for the track “Out Of The Woods,” off their latest album Holy Fire. The band intends to officially release the song as a single on October 28, which coincides with the release of the Live DVD “Live At The Royal Albert Hall.” No word on if it will be available on VHS.
