Each week I post the Top 20 College Radio Albums courtesy of CMJ (College Media Journal). Below are also 5 discs that I have in heavy rotation and an album that amazingly turns 10 years old in 2015, I call it my Spicy 6.
After a four week run at the top of the College Radio Album Chart, Dan Deacon (pictured) knocks Father John Misty from the top spot.
Six new albums make their debut this week, let’s get right to them. George Lewis Jr. aka Twin Shadow comes in at #19 with his latest release Eclipse. Vancouver based musician Tobias Jesso Jr. debuts at #17, while Mississippi natives Young Buffalo enters at #16. Walla Walla, Washington indie buzzband Chastity Belt enters the Top 200 all the way up at #14. The final two new entries are from Australian indie sensation Courtney Barnett and indie stalwart Modest Mouse.
Purity Ring remains my #1 CD of the week. The New Fellas, the sophomore release from The Cribs turn 10 years old this summer. Check out “Hey Scenesters”
